Priorities

Rhode Islanders have hired me for a very important job. First and foremost I want the Treasurer’s office to be the most user friendly office in state government. As I like to say, “The customer comes first” and delivering superior service to all who interact with the office is my goal. Technology will play a major role in the operation of my administration. One new project will be to make all state spending available to the public online. I also will work to grow the CollegeBoundfund®, a tax-free college savings fund the State of Rhode Island sponsors. A total review of the State’s employee pension fund which is beginning to feel the impact of the retirements of the “babyboom” generation will be started.
